Aesthetic Medicine: Botox and Fillers

Tired of seeing wrinkles but still a little afraid of using BOTOX? Dr. Jerry Darm, of Aesthetic Medicine, joined us today to explain how BOTOX® Cosmetic works and how fillers can also help eliminate unwanted wrinkles.

BOTOX® Cosmetic is a prescription medicine that is injected into muscles and used to improve the look of moderate-to-severe frown lines between the brows in people 18 to 65 years of age for a short period of time (temporary). BOTOX® Cosmetic is administered by a healthcare professional as a simple, nonsurgical treatment that is injected directly into the muscles between the brows. It works by blocking nerve impulses to the injected muscles. This reduces muscle activity that causes moderate to severe lines to form between the brows.

Fillers are used to instantly smooth away wrinkles around your mouth and nose. With just one treatment, you’ll get smooth and natural-looking results that last up to a year.*

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!!! Greetings from Dr. Darm

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!!! Greetings from Dr. Darm and Aesthetic Medicine.

Dr. Jerry Darm opened his aesthetic and surgery center in Lake Oswego, Oregon featuring a wide range of aesthetic and plastic surgery procedures performed by a board-certified plastic surgeon. The center is accredited with the Institute for Medical Quality (IMQ), becoming accredited is a significant accomplishment and demonstrates dedication to improving patient care. Join Oregon Humane Society on May 10, 2014 in Portland, Oregon for the biggest pet walk in the West! Doggie Dash is held every year at Tom McCall Waterfront Park in Portland. The main registration tent is located in the park near the intersection of SW Naito Parkway and SW Pine St. (near the Battleship Oregon monument). Vendor booths and demonstration areas will stretch along the park from Pine St. to the Morrison Bridge.

REGISTER NOW or DONATE.

The Course

There are two courses to choose from: The 1.5 mile "Doggie Dash Classic" route begins on SW Naito Parkway near Stark St. You'll proceed down a car-free Naito Parkway to the Salmon St. fountains, then turn north along the park's seawall, and return south on Naito Parkway.

The 2.5 mile "Bridge to Bridge" route is open to both walkers and runners. It uses the same starting and ending points as the 1.5 mile route, but takes Dashers over the Hawthorne Bridge, along the Eastbank Esplanade, over the Steel Bridge, and back to Waterfront Park. It's dog-friendly and features great views of the city.

Starting Times

Runners leave at 9 am for the 2.5 mile run. The runners are followed immediately by several "waves" of walkers on the 2.5 mile route, who are next followed by walkers on the 1.5 mile loop at 9:45 am.

When Should I Get There?

We suggest you pick up your registration bib in advance (at one of three pick-up locations; see below), thus avoiding the need to stand in the registration line at the event. If you can't pick up in advance or you are registering the day of the event, we suggest you arrive at the registration tent at least 30 minutes prior to the start time.

Where Should I Go When I Get There?

If you have not yet registered in advance, or if you have registered in advance and not picked up your bib (and t-shirt, if you qualify for one), you need to go to the Registration Tent. This large tent is located on the east side of Waterfront Park, across from Pine Street and up and across from the Battleship Oregon monument.

Advance Pick-Up Locations

Beat the lines at Doggie Dash by getting your race bib in advance. If you have raised $15 or more, you can also pick up your t-shirt. Haven't registered yet? You can register at these events as well.
